Early Childhood

Woodland Presbyterian School provides a vibrant and strong academic setting for its youngest learners. The Early Childhood curriculum engages children in hands-on, experiential learning to enhance creativity and comprehension. Our small class sizes allow teachers to adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs and respond to children’s natural curiosities, allowing more time to explore concepts beyond what is sometimes planned.

A Happy and Playful Environment

At Woodland, play is as productive as it is fun and is valued as the mode through which young children learn. Time is dedicated to spontaneous play and balanced with playful learning opportunities where lesson plans come alive. Whether pretending to be a favorite character or organ in the human body, students play and learn simultaneously. Play is our work in Early Childhood.
Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum

Our curriculum engages children in hands-on, experiential learning to enhance understanding and creativity. Students learn about numbers, letters, colors, and language in a way that also fosters their imagination. Early Childhood students are immersed in weekly special classes which include library, Spanish, S.T.E.A.M., physical education, and music.
Student-Centered Learning

Early childhood students at Woodland are the center of the curriculum. We set goals that are developmentally appropriate and stretch each students’ learning opportunities to meet their needs.
