Welcome to Woodland Athletics

JK-4th Rec Sports Program

Woodland Presbyterian School has assumed the organization and implementation of the recreational sports program for JK-4th grades previously managed by Woodland Presbyterian Church. The program will be run by Assistant Athletics Director Gracie MaKinster and all inquiries can be sent to recsports@woodlandschool.org.

Woodland values the importance of balancing the many aspects of a child’s life and chooses experiences intended to foster the individual growth of the intellectual, spiritual, creative, physical, social, and emotional roots. The athletics programs at Woodland are more than just athletics; it’s a community united by a shared passion for sports to have each child reach their God-given potential.

We offer various opportunities for athletes of all ages and skill levels to discover, develop, and utilize their talents to glorify God. The recreation sports offered through Woodland Presbyterian School Athletics are for grades JK-4 and are open to non-Woodland students.

Registration for spring 2024 is now available using the button on this page. Sports offered are soccer and baseball (T-ball, coach-pitch, and kid-pitch baseball). The deadline to register is Friday, March 1, at noon.
Middle School Athletics (5th – 8th grade)

Woodland School encourages students to confidently seek opportunities to learn and grow, not just in the classroom, but in all areas including athletics. Woodland is proud of the success our students experience on the field and court. In a typical year, over ninety percent of middle school students participate in at least one sport, with sixty percent involved in two or more sports.

The opportunity to participate on a competitive team, learn to work together, and learn how to push through challenges even when things are difficult are all skills that Woodland seeks to nurture in all of our students. Athletics at Woodland creates a venue to foster individual growth and to celebrate the potential in every student. In life and in sports, Woodland recognizes successes and failures as growth opportunities.

Most middle school sports include multiple practices/games each week. Teams are coached by Woodland School employees who have specific expertise and/or coaching experience.

Woodland School offers the following sports teams/programs to its middle school students: Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country*, Football, Golf, Soccer, Speed and Agility Training, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field, and Volleyball.

Warriors Running Club is a 3rd–5th grade cross country team that is organized and run by Woodland during the fall with one or two practices per week. Cross country meets, competing against other schools, consist of a one-mile race and are held at Shelby Farms.
